About me #
I’m a mathematician with a special passion for computer science. I like to analyze complex problems and then write code to solve them.
I am also a real computer geek and Linux enthusiast and therefore have my own homelab consisting of multiple Linux servers and workstations distributed across four locations in two different countries. These machines provide IT infrastructure for me and my family, including data storages, collaboration tools, and home automation.
Current position #
I currently work on the research project OptiPuls: a numerical model for single spot pulsed laser beam welding at the research group Numerical Mathematics (Partial Differential Equations), Chemnitz University of Technology, Germany.
Hobbies #
I’m particularly interested in:
- FOSS, Linux, infrastructure-as-code, reproducible computation
- functional programming, type systems
- DIY electronics, home automation, microcontroller programming
- 3D printing & CAD, building DIY printers
- hydroponic plant growing
- home espresso & cooking
- mountain biking
